Children & Youth In Care

Partners in Parenting provides support to children and youth from many different backgrounds, circumstances and experiences.  This can include children who have suffered emotional or physical abuse and/or neglect, medically fragile and complex special needs children as well as children who have developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and mental health issues.

Many children have experienced a degree of neglect and or physical, emotional or sexual abuse at the hands of others.  In many cases, a  child will experience behavioural and developmental effects as a result of their past experiences.  These effects often manifest themselves in behaviours such as aggression, tantrums, limited social skills and an inability to develop healthy & trusting relationships with adults.

In most cases, the children and youth entering the foster care system will have needs and require support and patience.

Are You Up for the Challenge?  Consider Becoming a Foster Parent!

Partners in Parenting will recruit, train and support qualified and experienced foster families in providing care to children and youth.  If you are interested in children, are caring and compassionate or if you have an understanding of special needs children and youth, then Partners in Parenting is interested in you!

Caring for children is a great reward.  Our families enjoy sharing their homes and lives with children who are less fortunate or who have special needs.  The children we support range in level of need but they all need caring homes.

If you live in Eastern Ontario and are considering becoming a foster parent, please contact us to set up a meeting in your home.
